WHAT IS ACID REFLUX ?
When the valve linking the stomach and the oesophagus, also known as the sphincter, is weakened, acid reflux occurs. As the stomach wall weakens, stomach acid might leak back into the food pipe. Because the acid is an irritant, the lining of the food pipe gets inflamed, causing discomfort and heartburn. The fluid in your throat may be heated, acidic, or sour.
